Shaare Zedek maintains a full schedule of daily, Shabbat, and holiday services throughout the year.

Shabbat Rinah, our Friday Kabbalat Shabbat evening service, welcomes Shabbat with song, traditional prayers, contemporary melodies, and musical instruments. Rabbi Mark Fasman and Hazzan Cantor Joanna Dulkin lead the service, with singing and participation by an enthusiastic and welcoming congregation.

The Saturday morning Shabbat experience at Shaare Zedek spans the generations providing baby-sitting for infants and toddlers and special Shabbat programming for older children. The youngest of our members are welcomed to the Bima to taste the sweetness of Torah during concluding prayers. Weekday and Sunday morning services are followed by bagel breakfasts and conversation. Saturday afternoon services include a light meal and discussion between Mincha and Maariv.

Junior Congregation is held on most Shabbat mornings at 10:30 am in the Guller Chapel. This service is designed for children in kindergarten through 5th grade and their parents.  Adults lead the service, which includes traditional prayers and Torah study – but with a twist.  We sing, dance, perform skits and use our own youth Siddur so that everyone can participate.

Family Shabbat Services are held throughout the year. On these dates, we invite congregants of all ages to pray together in the main sanctuary. Special attention will be given to those of varying ages at specific times throughout the service, honoring the connection of the family that bonds us to each other, the synagogue, the community, and our Judaism.

Supervised Children’s Activities are held in the Early Childhood Center’s green room for children ages 2 through 5 from 10 am through noon during Shabbat morning services and select other services.

Holiday and Festival Services are held throughout the year.
